We sincerely hope that you, your family, your business, and your team are safe. Helene has significantly impacted our area and life as we know it for now. However, the people here are resilient and will recover, though it may take some time.
The Colton Groome Team is continuing to update disaster assistance and financial related resources available to our clients and community. Please let us know if there is a resource or tip you have found that we should add.

Our Financial Commitment
Colton Groome Financial annually gives a percentage of targeted profit to the Community Support Fund. Clients and employees of Colton Groome select deserving nonprofits nominated through our application process.
Award Eligibility
Eligible recipients are tax-exempt organizations. Priority is given to:
- Charities in which our clients or employees are personally involved.
- Organizations serving members of our community with the greatest need.
The Colton Groome Community Support Fund of The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina
The Colton Groome #828Strong committee will continually evaluate the on-going needs of our area and provide grants to support organizations doing the work we believe is most impactful. The CG828Strong committee has been formed and will be led by our father, George Groome who is an Asheville native, has and continues to serve on multiple boards and is our community liaison.
“The Family Business Forum and George’s vision has actually kept family businesses together – it’s impacted them. It’s now a signature program of the University [of North Carolina Asheville], and the University is better for it. And I would say the overall economy here in Western North Carolina is better for the insight that George Groome had.”

George and Barbara Groome’s Power of 10 initiative connects really well to our mission in that it brings people together to take action. “Now more than ever, you need to believe that what’s within you is stronger than what’s in your way. This guiding principle enables No Barriers USA to help North Carolina disabled Veterans redefine their identity, purpose, and community as they face past and present challenges on a 5-day Back Country Expedition in Pisgah National Forest. These brave men and women stretch physical and emotional boundaries, foster camaraderie, push through adversity, and step up to serve others. Thanks to the generous support of Colton Groome Financial, these transformative, life-changing experiences are completely FREE to Veterans.”
